Makima's True Goal

Makima's plan transcends domination. She genuinely believes eliminating war, death, and hunger would create a better world. Her tragedy is that 'better' means under her absolute control. She wants to be loved and equal, but her nature as the Control Devil makes genuine equality impossible.

The Erasure Strategy

Chainsaw Man's ability to erase concepts by consuming their devils is the only power that can permanently reshape reality. Makima's plan requires complete subjugation of the one being she admires. She cannot love Chainsaw Man without controlling him, and cannot control him without destroying what makes him worth loving.

Why She Failed

Makima misidentifies Chainsaw Man. She wants Pochita the Chainsaw Devil, but the Chainsaw Man she admires is actually Denji: the hybrid combining devil power with human desire. Her inability to perceive Denji as the 'real' Chainsaw Man is her fatal flaw. Denji defeats her by consuming her body as an act of love, ensuring she is part of him forever.
