Fiend Creation

Fiends are devils possessing human corpses. The human is effectively dead, with the devil personality in control. Fiends retain devil features: Power's horns, Beam's shark head, Violence's mask. They exist in a liminal state, neither fully devil nor human, facing discrimination from both groups.

Intelligence Spectrum

Fiend intelligence varies dramatically. Power retains full speech, complex emotions, and combat strategy. Beam is simple but loyal. Violence Fiend suppresses his nature with a mask. Some fiends are barely more than instinct-driven. This spectrum makes fiends unpredictable as allies or enemies.

Fiends in Society

Public Safety employs fiends as assets, recognizing their value despite prejudice. Fiends face systemic discrimination, mirroring the series' themes of otherness and belonging. Power's arc from selfish menace to sacrificial friend represents the most complete fiend character development in the series.
