Arc Summary
The Eternity Devil Arc traps Division 4 in a hotel where the eighth floor repeats infinitely. No matter which direction they go, the team returns to the same floor. The Eternity Devil, a fragment of the Gun Devil's power, has turned the hotel into an inescapable spatial prison. Food runs out, tension rises, and the team faces the prospect of starving to death in an endless corridor.
This arc introduces the full Division 4 roster: Aki, Himeno, Kobeni, and Arai join Denji and Power. They face a concept devil that cannot be killed by conventional means. The Eternity Devil offers a deal: give up Denji's heart, and everyone else goes free. The team fractures under the pressure, with Kobeni's panic leading to a shocking act of violence against Denji.
The Three-Day Torture Solution
Denji's solution is as brilliant as it is unhinged. Realizing the Eternity Devil feels pain from every attack but cannot die, Denji decides to simply inflict pain until the devil begs for death. He transforms and, over three days of continuous chainsaw violence, tortures the Eternity Devil into surrendering its own life. This sequence established Chainsaw Man's reputation for unconventional solutions. The devil literally begs Denji to kill it, offering its heart in exchange for the release of death.
The arc advances the Gun Devil conspiracy. A piece of Gun Devil flesh is recovered from the Eternity Devil, confirming the yakuza's connection to Gun Devil fragments. Aki's obsession intensifies as he realizes the scale of the conspiracy behind these seemingly isolated devil attacks.
Kobeni and Himeno
This arc introduces two crucial supporting characters. Kobeni Higashiyama, a nervous wreck of a devil hunter, is revealed to have a secret contract that makes her lethally competent when cornered. Himeno, Aki's partner, forms a bond with Denji and displays the Ghost Devil's powers for the first time. Her easygoing exterior masks deep trauma, setting up her sacrificial role in the next arc.
